The Red Tent for Men
Brief:
Explore the relationships between the stakeholders in a communication process. Through an utilitarian lens aim to promote discourse around the notion of ‘others’ and ‘difference’ within the subject area of sex re-education.
Solution:
A twist on my research into the Native American Red Tent ritual– a sacred space for women to gather during their ‘moontime’. My installation piece serves as an immersive space to educate and inform the male audience about the taboos surrounding menstruation, inviting them to walk into a woman’s life and experience a complete cycle themselves.
